About Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian singer-songwriter who first broke into the music scene in 2007. She got her start after finishing third in the 5th season of Canadian Idol and was so impressive that she was signed onto a recording contract with Fontana and MapleMusic.

No one could have predicted how far she could have gone in so short a time.

She released her first album in September 2008, which featured two singles “Tug of War” and “Bucket” that made it to the Canadian Hot 100 top 40 singles lists. Both singles were accredited gold certifications by Music Canada and set her on the path towards success.

This was followed by her second album in September 2012, which featured music that earned her international interest and acclaim. In fact, this album was when Australia, the UK, and the United States all became aware of this rising star. Jeplen stoked this curiosity which earned her album high marks on several albums charts across the world.

She has since gone on to make an incredible mark on music with her style.
